Marketplaces are rapidly changing e-commerce in Czechia. Just a few years ago, they were almost non-existent. Today, they make up 20% of the total e-commerce market, and their growth is massive.

• Czech e-commerce grew to €8 billion, up 5% from last year.

• 20% of that comes from marketplaces, both local and international.

• International spending (Amazon, Shein, Temu) - 15%.

• Some of the biggest local stores (Decatlon, Dr. Max) are soft of platforms.

• Marketplaces are growing 100%+ year-over-year – and it’s just the beginning.

What’s happening in Czechia now will happen in Hungary soon. Marketplaces are not asking for permission – they are coming. In 2017, people in Czechia asked, “What’s Amazon?” Now it's a big part of the market.
